Yoga Accessories: The Must-Haves

Yoga Accessories: The Must-Haves

Like any other fitness industry, the world of yoga has a lot of options to choose from in terms of equipment, accessories and other supplies. Choosing what to purchase can be challenging at times especially if you are new to yoga.

There are a variety of items to look out for when shopping for yoga accessories, and these include

  1. Yoga towel

This is a must-have item when going to yoga lessons. Yoga mats lack a sticky surface which makes it easy to flip and slide once the lessons start and the heat starts building. The yoga class can go from a really exciting experience too stressful and sweaty without a towel close by, so a towel is a necessity especially if you enjoy the hot yoga classes. There are a number of stores where you can purchase the yoga towels that are affordable, lightweight and easy to clean.

  1. Yoga Mat

A yoga mat is a must have and can easily be found at any of the major retail shops. There are a variety of yoga mats that will get the job done and at the same time are affordable. When you have attended yoga classes for some time and it becomes a daily routine, then a high quality, durable mat is the best option. These could be a bit costly but they will surely serve you for a longer period of time.

  1. Yoga Bag

At this point, we already know a few items that one must have when going to for yoga classes. A yoga bag comes in handy because it makes the carrying process much easier. Yoga bags can be found at major retail stores, online or in yoga studios. They come in all shapes and sizes and their prices vary as well. Most yogis prefer the attractive, eye-catching and gorgeous yoga bags!

  1. Yoga Block

Oh, these blocks are a number one priority! They make the whole exercise so fantastic. Yoga blocks can be used both at home during personal practice or at the yoga studios. Wherever you decide to use them, always keep them close to help deepen, and soften the body tissues during yoga classes (more in-depth explanation of their benefits here). They can be found at major retail stores or in yoga studios.

  1. Yoga Strap

A yoga strap is used to hold and transport a yoga mat. It is a simple elastic strap that can be used for other purposes as well. Mats can be difficult to hold, usually unrolling all over the place, and this is why the yoga strap is essential; to tie the mat.

  1. Yoga Blanket

A blanket is an amazing yoga accessory that supports the body when curling up on the couch, it creates so much comfort during the yoga class at home .it is a must have and can also be purchased at major retail shops, or online.  These can also be useful when trying to meditate in an upright position by supporting your lower back (no I still can’t do a proper “lotus position” without low back fatigue!)

These are the must-haves for yoga exercise and the best part is that they are readily available! Not to forget the yoga hand towel and yoga bolster as well.
